Glass openings

A glass opening in the door means transparency towards adjacent premises but also allows for extra light. The glass opening also gives a boost to the design of the door.

Thermod offers a wide range of glass openings with great spectrum of choice in terms of material and shape. The choice is determined by the type of door and the environment in which the door is intended to be placed. The glass opening can affect the door's classification.

1. material frame

The glass opening is covered by a frame that holds the glass in place and seals the joint between the glass and the door. The frame is available in several materials.

Stainless steel

Used in environments with high corrosion requirements. Stainless steel frames are available glued or screwed and can easily be cleaned by flushing.

Anodized aluminum

Anodized aluminum frames are easy to keep clean due to the material itself and its construction. The frames are insensitive to moisture and can be rinsed off.

Anodized aluminum is an excellent option for cold room doors. Not offered in round design.

silicone

A silicone frame is easy to keep clean and can be used in humid environments. It is therefore ideal for hygienic environments such as hospitals, laboratories, restaurants and food industries. However, environments with condensation should be avoided.

Can not be made into cold room doors.

2. Glass material

Glass openings are offered with single laminated glass, or alternatively with insulating glass lamellae. The choice is determined by the function of the door and the environment in which the door is placed.

Sliding doors

Glass openings are customized according to the size of the door and customer-specific requirements. Please contact one of our sales representatives for further information.

Swing doors

Swing doors are delivered as standard with a frame in anodized aluminum but can also be offered in other materials as an option. The program includes glass openings in a number of designs.

Fire doors

Thermod fire doors can be fitted with glass openings that make up 15% of the door leaf area. The fire door's glass opening is only delivered with a stainless steel frame. For other fire doors, contact your sales representative for alternative glazing.
