Performance Thermod Group - Hygienic door tested in an extremely humid environment!

The best choice of doors for humid environments or frequent cleaning are door leaves made of laminate and frames made of anodized aluminum or stainless steel. It is a solution that is practically resistant to corrosion and easy to keep clean.

In such a sensitive environment, it is important that the door is properly protected against moisture and provides adequate thermal insulation to avoid the formation of mold and ensure comfortable use in humid conditions.

Thermod hygienic doors have full technical documentation:

• National technical assessments (KOT)

• Certificates of the National Institute of Hygiene

• Health Quality Certificates

• Infiltration Reports

• The door can be produced in an antibacterial version where the fiberglass laminate has a biocidal and virucidal  efficiency rating.

• ISO 9001 ISO 14001 certified

On the occasion of the “9th Congress – Modern Technical Division”, an idea was born to create - Performance H2O Thermod Group - Consisting of installing inner doors in an extremely humid environment!

On May 26, 2023, our assembly team inserted two pairs of inner doors in fiberglass with varnished stainless steel frames into the pond with the Hotel Remes in Opalenica fountain.

Over a period of 21 days, Thermod doors were subjected to:

Water resistance test - consisting of exposing the door to a stream of water, in this case, the stream of a fountain. The test was carried out for a period of 21 days, and then it was checked whether the door let water through.

Moisture resistance test – involves exposing the door to prolonged exposure to moisture and checking whether it maintains its physical properties, such as strength and rigidity.

Mold and fungus resistance test – consists of exposing the door to mold and fungi and checking whether the door is resistant to the growth of fungi and mold - a laminate with an appropriate Thermobac bactericidal layer is used. The product has been tested in accordance with the PN EN 22196:2011 standard – confirmed by the Report on the assessment of biocidal and virucidal effectiveness.

Corrosion resistance test – involves exposing the door to a chemical agent that causes corrosion and checking if the door survived the test without damage.

Sealing assessment – checks whether the door is properly sealed to prevent water from getting through. Check the seal on the edges of the door, in the gaps, and around the lock. The seal should be flexible and have no visible cracks or damage.

All tests are designed to ensure that the door is resistant to moisture and corrosion and ensures safety and durability of use.

We are glad that the performance of Thermod Group was received with great interest and recognition by the 9th Congress – Modern Technical Division participants. Thank you for being eyewitnesses to our experiment!

The door was dismantled after 21 days on June 17, 2023.

It was found that the door leaf still retains its strength and stiffness, and most importantly, it does not swell or delaminate.

Thermods fiberglass reinforced laminate doors with stainless steel frames are the perfect solution for wet rooms due to their resistance to moisture, corrosion and easy cleaning.

The Thermod door leaf made of laminate is filled with rigid and light CFC-free polyurethane foam. They are extremely light, durable, and corrosion-resistant, perfectly resistant to moisture and contact with water.

Thermod – H2O waterproof doors are a solution often used in rooms particularly exposed to moisture:

- Medical environments such as hospitals, laboratories, x-ray environments, quarantine environments, COVID-19 testing clinics, pharmaceutical industry, and veterinary clinics.

- Public or leisure environments such as indoor swimming pools, sports facilities, locker rooms, schools, preschools, industry, and car washes.

- Food environments such as restaurants, institutional kitchens, grocery shops, and the food industry.

In wet rooms, it is recommended to use doors that are specially designed and manufactured for this environment. The door should be made of a suitable material resistant to moisture!

However, it is worth paying attention to the workmanship quality and the materials used. It is also important that the doors to wet rooms are properly protected against moisture.

Incorrectly selected door joinery for environments sensitive to moisture – here are some examples found in hospital sanitary and swimming pool facilities.
